A permit is only required if structural or framing changes are needed to accommodate the new windows or doors.

A building permit is not required for replacement countertops, however, a plumbing permit will be required for any replacement fixtures.  See Plumbing Permit for more information.

An egress window which is part of a basement project will be included in the alteration permit.  See Egress Window for additional submittal requirements.

A permit is only required if structural or framing changes are made to the soffit.

• A permit is not required for a shingle tear off and replacement. 
• A permit is not required for a shingle overlay if there will be no more than two (2) layers of shingles.  
• A permit is required for any re-decking, structural change, or alteration to the roof line.

A permit may be required depending upon the scope of work.  Please contact the Building Inspector to discuss whether a permit is necessary.

Separate permits will be required for electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. 

• If electrical, plumbing, or HVAC work was performed, the rough inspections for those permits must be scheduled before the rough building inspection can be scheduled.  The same process applies for final inspections. 
• Call 414-766-7002 at least 24 hours in advance. Please have your permit number available.
