The Marketing and Public Relations Department is the communication and marketing hub of the City.
In May of 2023, the Common Council adopted the 2023-2027 Strategic Action Plan (SAP) to establish the organization’s vision, mission, goals, and priorities for the next five years. The 2023-2027 SAP includes a critical success factor of an “Active, Vibrant, and Engaged Community,” with a supporting objective to "Organize and staff City tourism, marketing, and community promotion functions.” The Marketing and Public Relations department was established in 2024 in response to the needs of the community as outlined in the SAP.
The department has responsibility for following functions:
- Branding
- Communications – Internal and External
- Website & Social Media
- Public/Media Relations
- Advertising & Promotion
- Events
- Farmers Market
- Tourism, working directly on contract with the Tourism Commission

- The Oak Creek Current magazine, which is mailed to every Oak Creek residence and business three times per year.
- The Acorn Newsletter, which covers city departmental news and library programming. This publication is mailed three times per year to all residents.
- Social media for the City of Oak Creek, Visit Oak Creek and other accounts across a variety of channels.
