Overview

A permit is required for any work done to expand the square footage or overall footprint of an existing one-or two-family dwelling.  Adding a second story, an attached garage, a sunroom, or a master suite are examples of residential additions.

Homeowners wishing to pull their own permits, must physically reside at the address where the work will be done.
