The Oak Creek Fire Department received Accredited Agency status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) on August 17, 2022 for meeting the criteria established through the CFAI’s voluntary self-assessment and accreditation program. The Oak Creek Fire Department is one of approximately 300 agencies to achieve Internationally Accredited Agency status with the CFAI and the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Inc. (CPSE).
To achieve accredited agency status, the department demonstrated compliance in over 250 specific areas of performance. These areas of performance include functions such as:
- Planning
- Goals and Objectives
- Operations
- Department Programs
- Support Services
- External Relationships
Through the CFAI accreditation process, the Oak Creek Fire Department is dedicated to providing continuous quality improvement and the enhancement of service delivery to our community. The CFAI process is voluntary and provides an agency with an improvement model to assess their service delivery and performance internally and then works with a team of peers from other agencies to evaluate their completed self-assessment.
Our achievement of Accredited Agency status demonstrates the commitment of our department to provide the highest quality of service to our community.
