Spring Cleanup

  • Date: 05/15/2020  (all day)

The Department of Public Works will conduct their spring cleanup beginning Friday, May 15, 2020 for residential homes or condos that have City-provided garbage and recycling pickup.

There is no charge for this pickup, but there is a charge for freon appliances ($15 each) and televisions ($20 each). In order for these items to be picked up, this fee will need to be prepaid prior to May 15.

Due to City facilities being currently closed to the public, payment by check or cash can be mailed to the Department of Public Works at 800 W. Puetz Road, Oak Creek, WI 53154. Please include your name, address, phone number and a list of what it is we are picking up. See below for fees.

Items that will be picked up are as follows:

  • Garden Clippings (excluding leaves, grass and branches)
  • Furniture
  • Wood
  • Appliances (doors need to be removed from refrigerators and freezers) [Freon appliances $15/each]
  • Construction Materials (not resulting from a contractor)
  • Metal
  • Mattresses
  • Televisions [$20/each]
  • Carpeting/Rugs/Padding (rolls no greater than 4 feet in width)

Items that will not be picked up are as follows:

  • Paints
  • Tires
  • Batteries
  • Hazardous Materials
  • Grass Clippings
  • Leaves
  • Branches
  • Fluorescent Tubes
  • Concrete/Stone

Residents are required to have their items at the curb or roadside by 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15 in order to be guaranteed a pickup. Once we pass through your neighborhood, we will not return for additional no-charge pickups until the Fall Cleanup on Monday, November 16, 2020.
