The Oak Creek Police Department is committed to transparency and informing the citizens of Oak Creek of the activity that occurs within the City. Monthly we post our previous month's activity. We also submit and post our prior year's information as well as the past 10-year's information.

Our information is also available in an interactive 'live dashboard' through the Wisconsin Department of Justice

We have had a Crime Analyst on staff since August of 2019. The Crime Analyst assists with reviewing information and giving direction on when and where to deploy police services. This intelligence-led policing has proved very useful since we have established his position in 2019.

We have also been a part of the Police Data Initiative (PDI) on the National level since 2014. The PDI promotes the use of open data to encourage joint problem solving, innovation, enhanced understanding, and accountability between communities and the law enforcement agencies that serve them.

Their site provides a consolidated and interactive listing of open and soon-to-be-opened data sets that more than 130 local law enforcement agencies have identified as important to their communities and provides critical and timely resources, including technical guidance and best practices, success stories, how-to articles and links to related efforts.

The leaders involved in this community of practice, known as the Police Data Initiative, have taken extraordinary steps to demonstrate transparency and to engage those they serve in a partnership to co-produce public safety and satisfaction, recognizing that both are essential to true community policing.
