Existing curb ramps will be upgraded to meet ADA standards and high visibility crosswalks will be added at the following intersections:

W. Sycamore Avenue and S. 26^th Street

W. Sycamore Avenue and S. 24^th Street

S. 22^nd Street and W. Lindenwood Avenue

S. 22^nd Street & W. Carrington Avenue

A Speed Table is proposed to be constructed on W. Sycamore Avenue between S. 26^th Street and S. 24^th Street for traffic calming.  A speed table is a raised section of pavement 22’ in length with a flat top that is used for traffic calming on low speed local streets.  Speed Table Detail

Median refuge islands will be added at the intersection of W. Sycamore Avenue and S. 24^th St.

Overview - Cedar Hills Elementary

Curb ramps will be added or upgraded to meet current ADA standards and high visibility crosswalks added at the following intersections:

E. Groveland Drive & S. Griffin Avenue

E. Groveland Drive & S. Verdev Avenue

E. Groveland Drive & S. Heritage Court

E. Groveland Drive & S. Shepard Avenue

Overview - Edgewood Elementary

Existing Curb Ramps will be upgraded to meet ADA standards and high visibility crosswalks will be added at the following intersections:

S. Shepard Hills Drive & E. Estates Place

S. Shepard Hills Drive & E. Arthur Drive

S. Shepard Hills Drive & S. Shepard Hills Circle

E. Shepard Hills Drive & S. Veronica Drive

Overview - Shepard Hills Elementary

Improved pedestrian accommodations will be provided on the south side of E. Meadowview Dr. between S. Kelly Drive and S. McGraw Drive. Sidewalk will be extended from S. Kelly Drive to mid-block where it will transition into a pedestrian lane continuing to S. McGraw Dr.

Overview - Meadowview Elementary

A High Intensity Activated Crosswalk beacon (HAWK) will be installed at the driveway to West Middle School in conjunction with curb ramp and crosswalk improvements being constructed as part of the Milwaukee County S. 13^th Street reconstruction.

A Hawk signal is used to warn and stop traffic at crosswalk locations where a traditional traffic signal is not warranted. Overview - West Middle

All improvements, with the exception of those at West Middle School, are planned for construction during the summer of 2023. The improvements at West Middle School are planned for 2024 in conjunction with the Milwaukee County S. 13^th Street project.
